Here at the Integrative Medical Clinic of North Carolina we are lucky enough to have Karen Saylor, Family Nurse Practitioner, as our resident Low Dose Allergen Immunotherapy (LDA) specialist.
Low Dose Allergen (LDA) immunotherapy, is a method of treating not only allergies but a number of health concerns.
LDA works by providing a miniscule dose of the enzyme, beta-glucuronidase, which stimulates the production of T-suppressor cells. These cells subdue the components of the immune system that can lead to the symptoms of feeling ill. With the boosting of the T-suppressor cells while introducing homeopathic levels of antigens into the body, the body begins to build a tolerance to certain triggers. In a broad range of conditions, the immune system is "turned up" and treats healthy and normal proteins in the body as allergens.
LDA works in a way that it only needs to be administered every 2 months and with time, even less often. The injections are given with a very tiny intradermal needle on the inner aspect of the forearm.
If you have allergy, sensitivity, or intolerance to foods, chemicals or inhalants (pollens, dust, mites, danders, etc.), LDA therapy could be the answer that you have been looking for.
Below is a list of problems that are known to respond to LDA immunotherapy:
Any form of allergies, seasonal, year round, food and environmental.

LDA is a tool used to help address and improve the health conditions that plague you. The beauty of it is that LDA can permanently improve symptoms and can cause a long term reduction in inflammation that leads to disease reduction. Other steps may be required to round out the care of more complex conditions, but LDA can help move your treatment course forward!
“I did an allergy test a few months before I started LDA and the entire thing lit up like a Christmas tree. I had been having allergic reactions regularly to the things I was eating and my ‘safe’ foods were dwindling in number. I’m so grateful a treatment like LDA exits” - Testimonial from a current patient at IMCNC
If you are an established patient at IMC and are interested in an LDA Consultation please give us a call at 984.999.0902 to schedule. If you are not an active patient of ours and would like to establish care with us, please fill out the new patient interest form here.
